Passion

This past weekend I went down to LA to go to the Passion World Tour Conference of 2008. Can I just say amazing? The music was led by Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and David Crowder Band. Like I said, amazing. The speakers were Louie Giglio and Francis Chan.

Let's just say that the experience was inspiring and very affirming for me and where I am at with God and what he wants me to be doing with my life. I am very aware of the calling God has for me at this time in my life, and I could not be more excited about it.

Francis posed the question or statement regarding how we should be living our lives which I thought was well-put made me think of my own life and what I am doing with it. He said "Are you willing to live in such a way that in whatever you do, when people see you or what you've done, they step back and say 'wow, that's Jesus!'" Point being, am I willing to die to myself every day so that God can use me in such a way that everyone around me can see God in me and what I am doing. However, it is not really me, for what they will see is God. God is using me, but the real impact is a supernatural understanding that is sensed because of an all-powerful God at work in the lives of these people. Can I live my life everyday, so that people are drawn and attracted to Christ. Isaiah 26.8. Can we live to make God famous, to make his name renown for all to see?

So yes, I made it home safe. I ended up flying down to Long Beach and back for church on Sunday morning. The flight home was amazing...so was the time of music at the conference. Inspiring, yet left me in awe of the Lord. Half the time I could not sing, just stood with my hands raised while tears came down my face.

The Lord is good, his mercy endures forever. You are the God of this City, the bright and morning star. He is mighty to save, hosanna in the highest. You are everything.
