wow...that's about the most I can utter at this point. I am completely amazing by society and the system of government and the church and everything. There is so much to say I don't even know where to start. I don't have much time to write, but what I do want to share is that God is good...even in the hardest of places God still reigns and He is God.
We have been dealing closely with Harrison's (Christian's real name but I tease him now) home church here called Mavuno. It means harvest in swahili. We have gotten to see the inward parts of a cutting edge church here in Nairobi that God has just blessed so much, and given such a stewardship of His people to. This church just moved locations two weeks ago, and by there 3rd service (the one we attended on Sunday) they had over 1,000 people there, and before they were a group of 400. In a matter of weeks they have almost tripled in size. But not only are the numbers amazing, the people and their passions are incredible. Not only is the staff so passionate about the Lord and Kingdom work, but the lay people in the church have embraced the call of "being" the church to a new level. There in no separating life and Jesus for these people like I see so much in our culture. These people realize God is the sole reason for existance, and He is they only way that Kenya can be restored and brought to a place where the Lord would want it. They believe that if the church fails in this next generation then Kenya is lost and headed for the worst position in history. amazing insights and listening to over 6 different pastors share their hearts in the last few days has been amazing.
When I get home I am going to type up all of my journaling that I have done on this trip and post it. So much has happened even in the last couple of days, and I have not had time to process it all and come to some conclusions about what I have seen and heard. We went to 3 different schools today that Mavuno is a part of, the fist was in a slum...the second was a school that started out of the post-election conflicts here in december where kids are beaten and abused in such terrible ways, some who watched their parents executed right in front of them, and the 3rd school was an incredible school that seemed to take their philosophy directly from fresno pacific. Today was amazing. I will explain more about these things later. I have been taking many pictures and video about what is happening and what I am experiencing and taking in. I don't want to miss anything that God has for me on this trip.
I thank God for bringing me here. I know that there is an intense purpose for being here and seeing what I have gotten to see, even thus far. Oh, and yesterday we visited all the Milele homes that our church supports. very cool.
Thank you for your prayers and I look forward to sharing more hopefully as my time here continues. Keep praying. God's work is just getting started. So thankful to be here...so thankful...
